Red Star Ironworks

is a design-driven architectural metal fabrication studio based in Hailey, Idaho, specializing in highly customized ironwork for luxury residential and commercial projects. Since 1999, we’ve worked at the intersection of art, engineering, and construction—partnering with architects and builders to realize complex ideas with clarity, precision, and craft.

Founded in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Red Star grew from a background rooted in sculpture, smithing, and fabrication into a studio known for thoughtful problem-solving and refined execution. What began as a small artisan practice has evolved into a collaborative fabrication partner trusted on architecturally ambitious projects—where design intent, constructibility, and finish quality must align.

Today, our primary studio operates from Hailey, Idaho, serving the Wood River Valley and the mountain west, including Jackson WY, Park City UT, McCall ID, and Boise ID. Together, Peter and Zachary guide Red Star with a shared focus on technical rigor, disciplined process, and long-term partnerships with design and construction teams.

We understand the realities of high-end building: tight tolerances, evolving details, layered approvals, and the importance of clear communication from concept through installation. Our work is grounded in detailed shop drawings, coordination with adjacent trades, and a respect for the broader architectural vision—ensuring that metal elements feel intentional, integrated, and enduring.
