We Love Metal
About Red Star Ironworks
Red Star Ironworks is a design-driven metal fabrication studio based in Hailey, Idaho, specializing in custom architectural ironwork. Since 1999, we’ve been dedicated to craftsmanship, collaboration, and creating work that feels as enduring as the landscapes it lives in.
Founded by Peter Lambert—originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a city with steel in its bones—Red Star grew out of a lifelong love of art, sculpture, blacksmithing, and fabrication. What began as a small artisan studio has evolved into a respected name in architectural metalwork, with projects spanning private residences, public spaces, and international collaborations.
In 2011, we expanded south to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where longtime partner Zachary Ennis leads our second workshop. That studio has become an integral part of Red Star’s identity, contributing to some of our most ambitious and site-specific pieces in one of the world’s most architecturally rich cities.
In 2021, Red Star Ironworks established its current home in Hailey, Idaho—just down the road from Sun Valley—where Peter and Zachary continue to guide the studio. Our focus remains on meaningful relationships, thoughtful growth, and architectural contributions that stand the test of time.
Every project is an opportunity to balance art and utility. We approach each commission with respect for the creative process, a commitment to quality, and a genuine appreciation for the materials we shape.
We welcome new conversations and collaborations—whether you’re an architect, builder, or homeowner. If you have a project in mind, let’s talk.
